My Knitting
These are some of the things I have knitted since being homeless. Some things have stories I can share, some will not. All were made with love and a hard-working artist's heart that is also practical and functional. I will add to this section frequently, so check back often.
The Only Thing I Ever Knit for Myself
Since Eviction
When I first was knitting after getting evicted, I was doing it to get rid of the yarn I had. I couldn't fathom throwing all that precious yarn out and had no one to pass it along to. When people saw me knitting, they started offloading more yarn on me instead! I have had very busy hands, ever since. The first few things I knitted, I didn't take pictures of. I even made a giant ball of yarn leftovers to make dishcloths with.

The Big Yarn Give
One day, sitting at the coffee shop, some of the people who enjoy a Monday night gathering showed up with huge bags of yarn for me. Then, weeks later, a mechanic's wife offloaded 3 more huge bags of yarn. It was a lot of work to organize it all but the yarn is almost the only thing I held on to as I threw and gave away, everything it took me a lifetime to build for myself. Before I even got in to the new yarn, another bag of yarn was given to me that I still have not even organized yet. I learned a new stitch for more delicate and difficult to work with yarns through that too!
Ralph
Ralph gets his own mention. He was somewhere in his 80's and previously also drove trucks, nearly all his life. He died a little over 1 year ago. One day, I said to him we're both well on our way to the grave and jokingly said "I'll race you." ... I didn't think he took racing that seriously. I made a hat for his daughter as well.
Unfinished Knitting
As with any art, every knitter usually has multiple projects on the go. I have a few, though I am trying hard to make sure I don't do that because I cant stay organized like I would if I wasn't homeless.
This blanket took thousands of hours to knit. In the middle, will eventually be a lion's head- the outline is meant to resemble lion's fur. It was a whole brand new stitch that I learned and causes projects to stop being square. I have not figured out how to remedy that, so if I do manage to eventually finish this blanket, it will not be true square. I love the stitch I used though- absolutely perfect for making sure little fingers don't get caught in knitted holes.
Dishcloths for Donations
While finishing getting rid of everything in storage, building this website and doing the necessary research, I also managed to find a way to start knitting these dishcloths. The first ones were given to 2 truck stops. The first ball of yarn is probably going to give me 10-15 dishcloths.

Canada Day Collection
I have made these 7 dishcloths as a specific set. Don't know who for yet, but- it's ready and waiting. Total time was about 30-35 hours. There are a few stitches I would change if I were doing it again but I had no pattern and only an image of the canadian flag maple leaf that I took a screenshot of, to work off of. If you would like a specific set created for you, I probably can do it (with God's help).
